Music People & House Party pres. HOUSE NOT HOUSE @ NUDE

Soul II Soulin slogani "A happy face, a thumpin bass, for a lovin race" kuvaa tavoiteltua tunnelmaa varsin hyvin.

Alkuillasta järjestetään Popot Sneakerstoren kanssa House Not House Sale Jam josta lisäinfoa täällä

House Not House-klubin avajaisiin saapuu arvostetun ruotsalaisen Raw Fusion-lafkan ja Raw Fusion-klubin residentti Dj Asparagus jonka musiikkimakuun voit tutustua hänen From Soul To Sole-blogissa josta voit ladata hänen miksauksia ja dj-ystävällisiä edittejä.
DJ ASPARAGUS - BIOGRAPHY:

Haris Badic aka DJ Asparagus, born and raised in the outer rim of Stockholm, Sweden began his musical journey all the way back as an 8-year-old while recording the audio channels off of old spaghetti westerns onto rotten old K7’s. When he at the age of thirteen rediscovered the soundtracks from these movies alongside Hong-Kong-kung-fu-movie-sampled hip-hop, he was immediately turned into an early version of what he is today - a musical collector. He started collecting music, listening intensely to deeply musically rooted radio shows and cool DJ mixes on the air, no matter style. During his early high school years he got introduced to house music and drum’n’bass through some friends. But it was the hip-hop genre that drove him to start DJ’ing at local hip-hop parties (at only 14 years of age!).

His first club night was a joint venture in 2001 when he and a group of friends (7 of them!) established Klubb Rekyl (Recoil in English), which today has ended up being one of the largest and most well known drum’n’bass clubs in Scandinavia (but started out as being an eclectic club night). After only a year of fussing around with his mates at the club, he decided to move to London. Through a friend, Swedish-gone-international-rapper Yarah Bravo, he got introduced to DJ Vadim who then owned the UK hip-hop label, Jazz Fudge Recordings (which sadly is no more). He got a job as label assistant and worked with acts like Blu Rum 13 (third part of One Self) and maniac beat boxer, Killa Kela. It was also here he started the short-lived club night All Man Jack (as in House) where he booked respectable British DJ’s such as Attica Blues, DJ Food and Rob Luis (owner of big time label Tru Thoughts).

When leaving London in 2003 he took a few steps back to Stockholm and continued his DJ’ing which picked up real nicely and made him into a regular name within the Stockholm DJ community (he also created a radio show of his own that lasted for a couple of years). This was also when he first tried out making music on a shorter scale, which he later after a few years picked up for real, but not until he got the chance to travel around the world for some good old soul searching. In 2004/2005 he experienced everything from jungles and sandy beaches to high tech airports and concrete forests in two different continents (3 if you count Micronesia). Being a Swedish pioneer when it comes to digital DJ’ing (Final Scratch and later Serato Scratch LIVE) he took promoting himself seriously and played Singapore, Tokyo and New York to full venues.

In 2007 he came back to producing which first started out in editing and later stretched out his own music that lead to his first release (with Wipe The Needle) on GAMM Enterprises (bootleg label owned by Raw Fusion’s head honcho, “Mad” Mats Karlsson). And being introduced to the Raw Fusion club night in 1999 was probably the biggest influence when it came to DJ’ing, club promoting and producing. It was here he got to witness the legendary Swedish breakdance champion (in 1985) and cutmaster DJ, Mad Mats, teamed up with guest DJ Jürgen von Knoblauch of Jazzanova at the hot (like a sauna!) venue Mosebacke Etablissment. Hearing them blend everything from hip-hop, funk and latin grooves to house, nu jazz and drum’n’bass truly inspired him to great lengths. In 2006 he joined his now close friend Mad Mats to help continue run the Raw Fusion club and keep the Raw Fusion Recordings label on its feet (working with graphic design and digital distribution).

DJ Asparagus has over the years worked with, promoted through labels and club nights and DJ’d alongside such acts as Freddie Cruger aka Red Astaire, Hearin’ Aid, Hearin’ Aid, Up Hygh, Spiritual South, Mad Mats, The Dynamics, Kissey Asplund, J-Live, David Mancuso (The Loft - only time ever in Sweden!), Hird, Benji B, Ian Friday, Ge-Ology, Simbad, Trojan Soundsystem, Karizma, DJ Vadim, DJ Food, Killa Kela, Blu Rum 13, Amir (Kon & Amir), Timmy Regisford (The Shelter NYC!), Attica Blues, Rob Luis, Yarah Bravo, Ragga Twins, DJ Krust, DJ Hype, DJ Zinc, Cari Lekebusch, Aril Brikha, Mike Dunn, Mapei, Rasmus Faber, Wipe The Needle, Quantic, Hygher Baby, Spacek, IG Culture, Jazzy Jeff, Bugz In The Attic, Phil Asher (restless soul), Erik Rico, DJ Spinna & Bobbito (for the Wonderful party!) and many more!
