HUOM JAZZKISSAT ! ATTN JAZZCATS !

Kerkko Koskinen (Ultra Bra) on tehnyt hämmentävän kovan jazz-levyn Big Band hengessä. Ei siinä etteikö mies osaisi tehdä hyvää musiikkia, mutta Agatha-levyltä löytyvä Helsinki/Vantaa-kappaleen instrumentaaliversio sai mut vaan koukkuun ensi kuulemalta (joka oli abt tunti sitten). En tiedä kuinka monta kertaa oon nyt painanut ton biisin soimaan myspace-sivuilta uudelleen.

Kerkko Koskinen (of finnish Ultra Bra-fame, the most popular pop/rock group in Finland the 90s) has made a stunning jazz record in a Big Band style all of it´s own.
There´s nothing stunning in the fact that he´s making good music but a track called Helsinki/Vantaa from this sounds-like-a-movie-score album Agatha had me hooked the 1st time I heard it (which was like an hour ago). Dunno how many times I´ve listened to it so far..

Killing the trumpet we have Verneri Pohjola and the UMO Jazz Orchestra backing him up.

A jazz standard in the making..
